Welcome to Embody Carolina

Embody Carolina is an organization dedicated to preparing students to serve as compassionate and effective allies to those struggling with eating disorders. Embody Carolina is not only a brand new initiative at the University of North Carolina, but it serves as the first program of its kind on any university across the country.
Eating disorders are physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausting conditions that are dangerous, and in extreme circumstances, deadly. Eating disorders are disproportionately prevalent on college campuses, and are so psychologically complex, that friends and family face often lack the understanding to effectively reach out to their loved ones. Embody Carolina is in high demand at UNC, as it matches good intentions with good practices – providing these potential allies with the information and resources they need to serve their friends.
Embody Carolina is proud to be a committee of the Campus Y, the Center for Social Justice at UNC. The training is an accredited Buckley Public Service Scholars Skills Training. Embody Trainings can be used to fulfill the requirements of the BPSS program.
